I’m Mark Shephard, the guy behind the channel and this site. My passion for both tech and training goes all the way back to my time in the U.S. Air Force, where I served as a Unit Training Manager in a communications and technology unit. It was my job to not only train — but to train the trainers: helping supervisors understand how to teach, train, and grow their teams. That experience shaped my belief that good information becomes powerful when it’s clearly understood and honestly shared.
Fast forward to today — I work in education as a Testing Coordinator for AP, SAT, and state assessments in a busy public school district. It keeps me grounded in the real world, where technology needs to work flawlessly, not just look flashy on launch day.
GOT started as my way of combining those two worlds — teaching and technology — into relatable, no-nonsense content. On my GOTgoodoldtech YouTube channel and here on the site, I break down the newest devices, compare them in real-life situations, and help viewers make smarter decisions based on performance, usability, longevity, and value — not marketing hype.
